Mr. Cherry has been an associate with the firm since 2002. Mr Cherry obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from Vanderbilt University in 1998 and his law degree from University of Tennessee College of Law, cum laude, in 2002 where he served as an assistant synopses editor for Transactions: The Tennessee Journal of Business Law.
Mr. Cherry’s areas of practice include commercial and residential real estate, commercial lending, condominium law and homeowners association representation, creditor’s rights and collections, corporate and business law, probate, and estate planning.
Mr. Cherry represents and advises both real estate developers and lending institutions in the planning, structure, finance, and management of condominium projects and planned unit developments (PUDs). He also assists developers as well as lenders, real estate agents, and their clients with respect to the closing of residential purchase and refinance transactions, including the issuance of title insurance.
Mr. Cherry also represents and advises real estate developers, landlords, tenants, and real estate brokers regarding the planning, structure, finance, purchase/sell, leasing, and management of commercial real estate for restaurants, retail, and office space. He also represents both landlords and tenants in the residential property context with respect to the negotiation and preparation of leasing documents and enforcement of the respective client’s rights thereunder.
Mr. Cherry provides counsel and guidance for condominium and homeowners associations as well as property managers with respect to the interpretation and enforcement of restrictive covenants and other legal documents, resolution of disputes, and collection of delinquent assessments.
Mr. Cherry also assists businesses and individuals with respect to forming business entities, including the preparation of related legal documentation and filings, and he also provides legal counsel related to asset or stock purchases, buyouts, and dissolutions.
Mr. Cherry is a member of the Nashville and Tennessee Bar Associations and has been admitted to all Tennessee state courts and the U.S. District Court, Middle District of Tennessee.
He is married to Leslie Evans Cherry, who is also an attorney and Associate General Counsel with O’Charley’s, Inc., and they have two young daughters. |
