Mr. Spining is a partner in the firm. He joined the firm in 1994. Mr. Spining attended the University of Tennessee where he received a Bachelor of Arts with a major in English Literature in 1989 and a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1993. Mr. Spining served on the Tennessee Law Review as a Staff Writer, publishing an article entitled "Forcing Mail Order Houses to Collect Use Taxes in the Wake of Ouill" Tenn. Law Rev. Vol 60, No. 4 (1993).
Mr. Spining's primary area of practice is Civil Rights and Governmental Entity litigation in both State and Federal court. Mr. Spining is admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, United States District Courts for the Middle & Eastern Districts of Tennessee. Mr. Spining has extensive trial experience, both jury and nonjury, in matters involving Civil Rights, Governmental Tort Liability, School System Liability, professional liability, premises liability, trucking, contract disputes, insurance, construction defects, products liability, class actions, and personal injury. Mr. Spining also provides lectures to insurance companies, governmental entities and law enforcement officers.
